thank you everyone for all the awesome suggestions and best wishes for Dad and Luke.
I am really pushing for dad to take it further but at the moment he is very resistant. He wants to forget about it.
I told him about going to the media and he said no. Mum had also suggest going to Colling FC and again he said no as a time before his car was broken into in the members carpark and they didnt do anything.
He is feeling like no one cares so there is no point in doing anything.
I am upset the cops didnt do anything but I guess if I was a cop in this current climate I wouldnt want to put myself in danger either. The same goes with those at the station, I think everyone still has it fresh in their mind that last time someone tried to help someone they got shot and killed for their kindness. It is sad that we have to fear such things.
Dad and Luke would have a case to take it further especially with the ctv footage and with the trauma they are going through now but I am not sure if I can get them to do anything.
I am going to push the media side again as the Security Guard said this happens every week. They pick what they see as a soft target and they beat them just for the fun of it. The security guard said it wouldnt have mattered if my brother totally ignored them, they would have still jumped them. If I can push the "you will be saving others" path then perhaps he will take it further.
It is hard to say if they are ok. Dad has some lumps on the back of his neck and is very angry. Last time something traumatic happened to him he went into a deep depression - his health is bad anyway and I feel he is going to let it all get ontop of him again.
I will keep pushing and let you know how it goes.
In the meantime, try and keep yourselves as safe as possible. If you can, avoid travelling during football times and find a security guard and hang around them until your train arrives. | | Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 | | 3:00 pm |
Violence in Melbourne - going down? my arse On Friday night my dad and my brother made their way to Southern Cross Station to go and watch football at the Telstra Dome (or whatever it is called now). They were dressed in their suits as they were going to a function there and to also watch their beloved team Collingwood play (I know I know). After the match they were pretty happy as their team won. They go back to Southern Cross station and my brother gets a taunt from a Collingwood supporter (casually dressed in Collingwood jumper and scarf). My brother, who is very gentle, 6 foot tall, blonde, small to medium build, has a fractured disc, says something like "okay mate". Next thing he knows he is being punched and kicked by 6 guys. My dad screams out that they are Collingwood supporters too but it doesnt stop them so my dad jumps in. My dad is very grey both in skin and hair, he is 5'10", chubby build has carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands, suffer thrombosis, is on warfarin and has diverticulitis. He gets kicked in the stomach, the back and the back of the head. My brother gets a gas in his head and legs. The station was packed and no one helped - which I cant really blame them for as who knows if they would have attacked them too or had weapons etc. The only thing that stopped them is my dad started going crazy. Yelling and screaming and panting and just plain off his dial (not much of a stretch really - I jest). Finally a security guard came after it was all done. Dad called the cops and wait an hour and a half and they didnt show. He ended up giving a statement over the phone and the cops said they had an idea of where they guys were and dad said they would stay around and id them but nothing happened. My brother broke down and couldnt get back on the train to come home but dad made him. Now the two of them dont ever want to go to the football or the city again and my brother doesnt want to leave the house. Current Mood: angry | | Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 | | 5:17 pm |

Cherry Bar For those who are worried about the Cherry Bar in AC/DC lane.
I just spoke to James (one of the owners).
There was a fire in the building. It was in the business above theirs.
The Cherry Bar has lots of water damage. All their vinyl has been lost.
They will reopen as soon as they are given the all clear. They hope they can open as soon as the water damage is dealt with and not have to wait for the business above to be fixed. | | Sunday, June 1st, 2008 | | 11:42 pm |
Super Heroes and Brothels The other day dad and I saw a big grey building in amongst a group of marketing companies.
The name on the outside was Gotham City.
Dad though it was a marketing business and I thought it was a brothel like The Daily Planet.
I was right, it is a brothel. I guess men like to feel like they are a super hero or some such.
I wonder what other names would work? WonderDome perhaps? | | Thursday, May 29th, 2008 | | 11:52 pm |
Mister Cellophane - Chicago. This is such a sad song. If someone stood up in a crowd And raised his voice up way out loud And waved his arm and shook his leg You'd notice him
If someone in the movie show Yelled "Fire in the second row This whole place is a powder keg!" You'd notice him
And even without clucking like a hen Everyone gets noticed, now and then, Unless, of course, that personage should be Invisible, inconsequential me!
Cellophane Mister Cellophane Shoulda been my name Mister Cellophane 'Cause you can look right through me Walk right by me And never know I'm there...
I tell ya Cellophane Mister Cellophane Shoulda been my name Mister Cellophane 'Cause you can look right through me Walk right by me And never know I'm there...
Suppose you was a little cat Residin' in a person's flat Who fed you fish and scratched your ears? You'd notice him
Suppose you was a woman, wed And sleepin' in a double bed Beside one man, for seven years You'd notice him
A human being's made of more than air With all that bulk, you're bound to see him there Unless that human bein' next to you Is unimpressive, undistinguished You know who...
Cellophane Mister Cellophane Shoulda been my name Mister Cellophane 'Cause you can look right through me Walk right by me And never know I'm there... I tell ya Cellophane Mister Cellophane Shoulda been my name Mister Cellophane 'Cause you can look right through me Walk right by me And never know I'm there Never even know I'm there. | | Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 | | 12:36 pm |

I am such a prude My gym instructor asked me to check out her step daughters myspace to kind of spy. The girl is 17.
All looks normal. Drunk pics, flirty pics, typical myspace pics.
Then one of the pics floored me a bit.
The pic was taken when the girl was 16, it is a set up photo but I found it quite disturbing.
One girl, 5 guys in porno pose. Her bent over with two behind, one in front and others groping. All fully dressed but it just threw me.
I have no problem with porn, I have no problem with consensual activities but I do have a problem with a 16 year play acting this kind of sexual activity.
I know I am the sort to read way too much into what might have been a very innocent shoot but I just feel a bit concerned about it.
Am I a prude? Am I reading too much into it? | | Thursday, May 15th, 2008 | | 10:26 am |
Oh Bella I just got home from a lovely evening with the beautiful boy and was greeted at my front door by my puppy Bella.
Hmmm, I remember locking the back door last night.
I go to the backdoor and find there is a new doggy door in it made by my industrious puppy - just in time for Winter, thanks puppy. | | Thursday, May 8th, 2008 | | 11:15 am |

Is that sex I can smell? - may offend some readers Had a great weekend. Last night went to a housewarming party with Rael and a friend of his. Nice and relaxing. We then decided to go to DV8 for a little bit of a Slashdance. Slashdance was fun as always but the evenings entertainment seemed to be all on the Metal level. I am standing near the dance floor looking around at the crowd and I notice a couple sitting near the dancefloor in quite an open spot. Girl is sitting on boy - nothing major. I then notice they are not just kissing, infact they are really going for it. I of course have to point this out to Rael who has a big chuckle. The couple gets so carried away that the boy ends up standing up and just thrusting into this girl. It was pretty funny to watch. When they were done we stood and applauded them which then set the boy off again. Too bad they werent hot ;p Then it looked like another couple were about to start. The funniest part of the night was this "cute" metal boy running around pashing all the metal boys. It was ace. He asked each one permission and then each boy would go for it. It is nice to see boys having this kind of fun as it is usually girls who put on the show for everyone. I only got a kiss on the cheek but it was hard to refuse such a polite and entertaining young man ;p He was so inoffensive that you just had to smile at him and think it was cute ;p Current Mood: amused | | Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 | | 9:26 pm |

Friends This weekend has left me feeling all giddy about my friends and how much they mean to me.
I am one of those lucky people who have had some friends for 25 years. This is not a bad effort for someone who went to 11 different primary schools.
I have two girlfriends who I met in 1983 and are still two of my closest friends. I also have my high school girlfriends which includes Patricia who I met in 1985. Other girlfriends I met at work in 1995, then the friends I made on QoTD in 2000 as well as many other new friends.
What I love about my friends is they know what it means to be friends. You can talk openly and honestly with them. They love you and care about you and wish only the best for you.
I love meeting new people and making new friends but I am always concerned about those people who dont have long standing friendships. It is like every couple of years they clean out their friends and get some new ones. They may even be the type that change their whole look and persona depending on the new group of friends they have. Maybe I am just too cynical but I think if people dont have any old friends then what are they hiding? They may act like the nicest person, so sweet, so caring but why is it they dont have any old firends? They also tend to be the sort that tell you stories, lots of stories. Stories about how they had all of these friends and they all left or they make sure none of the older friends get to talking to the newer friends just incase they start to question these stories. I know people have done that to me where they decide they need to get rid of me because I start to question some of these stories and find out from other mutual friends they were told a different story. I have the same issue with people who dont talk to any of their exes and every single ex was a bad person. Maybe they just dont want you to know the truth?
I know this is a bit of a rant but I find these sort of people are starting to effect my frienships with their stories. They will never hurt my real relationships but they do effect some of the new ones until those new people ask me directly about certain situations. Those new ones are often then the ones that turn into 25 year old friendships.
I love my friends to bits and it hurts me when people try and poison those relationships. The only person they will hurt is themselves and they end up missing out on some beautiful frienships with not only myself but those I introduce them too. | | Friday, March 21st, 2008 | | 1:45 pm |
